Maison Ikkoku, a comfortably shabby apartment building, is home to a motley crew of volatile personalities. Yusaku, a college student, is madly in love with beautiful young Kyoko, the apartment manager. But the recent death of her husband prevents Kyoko from fully opening her heart to anyone. While bumbling Yusaku and a dashing tennis coach vie for her affections, the other residents can't resist meddling in their business. Hilarious misunderstandings - and poignant drama - ensue.
